Ken and Barbara Harrison secured a buyer for their Costa Blanca apartment just a couple of weeks after registering with HomeEspaña.
The couple from Kent completed the sale of their penthouse apartment in the Orihuela Costa in May 2017, after HomeEspaña found them buyers the month before.
“We’d been thinking about selling for a year or two,” said Ken. “So, when we came out in March, we decided to go ahead and list with an agency. We contacted HomeEspaña after our lawyer in Spain suggested them. They sent someone out to look at our property, indicated what price they thought was achievable and within a couple of days we had viewings. We returned to the UK at the end of that month and within three or four days, HomeEspaña rang to say they’d had an offer, which we liked and accepted.”
The Harrisons got close to their asking price of €79,000, selling their apartment furnished to another British couple.
“We couldn’t fault HomeEspaña’s service,” continued Ken. “They kept up informed throughout the selling process and helped with the paperwork, including the habitation and energy certificates.”
Ken and Barbara’s second-floor apartment, which they used as a holiday home, had two bedrooms, one bathroom and a large roof terrace. They got the keys to it new in 2003, after buying it off-plan direct from the developer in 2002.
“We decided to sell only because we want to travel to different places now,” added Ken. “We’ve always preferred not to let it as it has lots of our personal stuff in. So, it would only end up being vacant a large part of the year if we kept it.”
The Harrisons’ apartment was in the friendly beach resort of Playa Flamenca, linked with Punta Prima to the north and La Zenia to the south by a promenade. Homes there are rarely more than a 15-minute walk from the beach, local shops, bars and restaurants, or the colourful Saturday market. The landmark La Zenia Boulevard shopping complex is also within walking distance or just a five-minute drive away. Meanwhile, the four golf courses of Las Colinas, Villamartín, Lomas de Campoamor and Las Ramblas are all no more than 10 minutes away.
Reaching Playa Flamenca from the UK is simple too. The resort is only 20 minutes’ drive from Murcia San Javier airport or 45 minutes from Alicante airport, which receives flights from a number of UK regional airports and all over Europe.
