Torrent Property for Sale

When looking at property for sale in Valencia, there is a choice to be made between country life or city life – if the latter holds more appeal for you, then Torrent, located within the Horta Sud district of Valencia, may be the ideal place to start your Spanish property search. Just 7 kilometres from the City of Valencia, Torrent is the second largest town in the Valencian region, after Valencia City. It is a modern city, with all the amenities you would expect, with a Metro station and a good bus service.

Torrent is an historical town, its main monument being its ancient tower. The tower, which is about 30 metres high, was built in medieval times and was part of an ancient castle that had its own surrounding moat. In the past, the tower was often been used as a prison. It has now been restored and houses two exhibition halls. Other monuments of note are the chapel dedicated to Sant Lluis Bertran, a traditional church much loved by the locals, and the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption.

Las Fallas is celebrated in Torrent, as in Valencia, between the 15th and 19th of March. Impressive papier mache statues fill the streets satirising contemporary political, social and cultural issues. One can not help but be drawn into the celebrations. On the last night, each ‘statue’ is ceremoniously burned, an amazing spectacle which has to been seen to be believed.

Torrent is just 10 kilometres from Valencia international airport and Alicante international airport is approximately 180 kilometres away. The Metro at Valencia airport will also take you to Torrent Metro station.
