Moraira is worth looking at if you are considering north Costa Blanca property - originally a small fishing town, though it now survives on its tourism, it is still at heart a Spanish town with a real sense of community spirit. As well as attracting summer visitors it has many expats who have chosen to settle here and stay all year round. Moraira has all the modern amenities you would expect but has also kept its original fishing port charm, with local fishermen going out every morning and bringing the catch back later in the day – as you would expect, the seafood available in Moraira is exceptional!

The sandy beaches of the North Costa Blanca are some of the most beautiful in Spain and the beaches around Moraira and the surrounding areas are no exception. Its beaches are not overcrowded and all have crystal clear water. Platja de l'Ampolla is within walking distance of the town and Platja del Portet is approximately 1.5 kilometres north of the centre. Here you can sit and relax in the café bars along the beachside. The beaches to the south of Moraira are mainly rocky but they are ideal spots for snorkelling enthusiasts. In fact, Moraira has lots of nautical sports on offer and there is even a certified PADI 5 star dive centre serving the area.

The coastal strip of Moraira has everything for sea lovers. The Moraira Club Náutico is one of the main nautical tourist attractions of the Costa and makes the most of the Blue Flag beaches and one of the cleanest shorelines in Europe.

Moraira has a weekly market every Friday and there is also one in nearby Teulada, every Wednesday. Teulada is, in fact, the old town of Moraira and is well worth a visit. This region is famous for its wines, especially the sweet Moscatel. The Moscatel Festival held at the beginning of September is the perfect time for a sample!

The Spanish love their fiestas and in July there is a parade and, of course, a fireworks display for the Virgin of Carmen, Patron Saint of sailors and fishermen.

The two main airports serving the Costa Blanca are Valencia and Alicante. There are numerous flights into Alicante airport and Valencia airport to the north is also well serviced. You can drive easily to Moraira via the national highway N-332 or by AP-7.
