The irrigation is vital as the Segura river basin has the lowest rainfall in the whole of Spain – yet, thanks to the extensive network of waterways, 60% of Albatera’s cultivatable land is now irrigated – creating a landscape of lush green scenery set against the dramatic backdrop of the Sierra de Crevillent mountains.

Albatera has all the amenities you would expect in a small town – shops, bars, restaurants, well regarded Spanish schools. The popular Albatera Golf and Country Club is just 6 kilometres to the north of the town. With excellent motorway links to Murcia and Alicante, international schools, universities, hospitals and large commercial centres are all within easy reach.
