Pedreguer Property for Sale
Buying a property in Costa Blanca North sets you in the heart of Spanish farming country – a green and fertile landscape, where much of Spain’s fruit and vegetables are grown. This is where the mountains meet the sea and you will find some of Spain’s most breathtaking scenery, not to mention miles and miles of perfect white sandy beaches. Pedreguer is a village located just inland from Denia on the coast and is quite close to Gata de Gorgos. It is situated approx 84 kilometres from Alicante and approximately 45 kilometres from Benidorm. It is easy to get to via the AP-7 and the N-332.
Located at the foot of the Muntanya Gran, Pedreguer is a typical farming village. The land here is sheltered by the surrounding mountain ranges, giving it an especially mild climate in the winter months. Agriculture and the production of leather goods are the main industries and the whole region is dotted with citrus, almond and olive groves.
Pedreguer is a traditional Spanish village where many of the houses are brightly painted. Buildings of note are the Church of Santa Cruz, and the covered structures in the main plaza, called ‘Porxens’, where the market is held. Other points of interest in the town are the Hermitage of San Blas, Castellet de L’Ocaive, Coves de les Migueles and the ground level wells in the Barran de la Font. The local cuisine is unique to the region and dishes include pallea, rostit, pebretes and putxero, which is a kind of stew. You should also try ‘Coca’ – the local flat sponge cake. A lively village with a real community feel – local festivals include the fiestas held in honour of San Buenaventura and St. Roch during the second week of July.
